Google Gemini recently launched Deep Research with Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, offering 5 free queries daily. This significantly undercuts OpenAI’s $200 monthly subscription for 100 queries.

The comparative quality between Gemini’s Deep Research and OpenAI’s offerings requires further evaluation.

OpenAI has released deep research APIs, including o3 and o4-mini variants:

Notable limitation: API access for o3, o3-pro, 4o, and 4.1 excludes interpreter/analysis tools, which remain available only through the web interface.
